Okay so my grand plan was to start a 10 gallon nano reef, my first attempt at coral with the exception of a bunch of mushroom coral we found on the live rock. However, I ran some numbers and realized it was going to cost me about $400 for everything I needed. My stupid truck keeps breaking down so no way was that affordable. So then I reconsider and thought maybe I would kick my frog out of his 2.5 gallon and use that for a starter and eventually frag tank. Ran numbers and only about $100. Much better but I still have bunches of questions such as....
1. What would be some good coral to keep that won't grow too huge? Lighting will be 18watts pc.
2. I know mushrooms like lower light, would I be able to keep any or would they be unhappy?
3. I would prefer coral that don't need feeding or at least don't eat like silversides and big stuff so it will be easier to keep water quality high.
I know this will be something I have to keep up on everyday but I'll just add it to my afternoon animal rush of cleaning and feeding. I already have a zoo so one more can't hurt, right?
