I just set up the JBJ 24g Deluxe and am having a couple probs please help me out.
1. The heat in tank is @90 WITHOUT a heater. Only two mj1200s in the tank. I just messured the temp here at 12am wihtout heater in it and lights are off and its 88.
2. Have any of you glued the MS Skimmer to the tank mine keeps falling of when the water lvl adjusts the smallest amount.
3. My one MJ1200 That I have for circulation inside tank keeps falling off the glass. It has 3 suction cups on it two on top and one on bottom. However the top ones seem to keep loosing suction?
Thanks Guys.

How hot is the room the tank is in? Is the room getting direct sunlight?
For reference, my house was only 75, but my tank was in the mid 80's. I ended up having to get the AC out of storage and put it on for the fish.
I also found that by propping open the front 'feeder' hatch an inch, I could cut 2 degrees off the temperature.
I assume from your past posts that you have one of the MJ12's as your 'filter' pump. They're rated ~300 gph, which is around the 10x you want for the tank. Might want to cut the second PH down to a MJ4.

What did you use to prop it open and stay? my tanks about 81 without the AC on, but it lowers when its on, but when I stick my hand in there...the water is pretty cold.

This is by no means a solution I can fully recommend, but I happened to have a pair of dice on my desk next to the tank, so I stuck those in the corners, and wedged them in.

Like I said, not my proudest solution, but it worked, and its not the end of the world if it falls in.

I did a metal halide mod and added a fan to my JBJ 24g. I also prop open the door with a heater holder that has a suction cup that I attached it to the lid

That way I can turn it in at night.
All that aside, If your house temp is below 80, it must be the MJ's. Are they new? If old maybe clean them real good. I soak mine in white vinegar when I clean them. Just rinse well after.

Room temps usually around 74 degrees and i usually turn the ac on around that temp as well. The one mj1200 is used for the return and the other is for circ in the tank. I turned that one off recently and opend the hood. Took out heater. Waiting a lil longer to see temps of tank.

I prob did that about 12hrs ago and has only dropd about 3.5degrees. Im going to try to get a small fan to blow on the water surface. I hope my HQi hood will help some prob wont sense it has more heat production. Im afraid that im going to have to get a chiller lol.

u can raise the hood such as Coral Keeper good. His thread is in the nano section somewhere amd set the fan up to blow acrossd the surface. Sounds like you might need a chiller the way it sounds

My jbj is in my living room, my air conditioner runs majority of the day, the temp does not go past 81. Right now it is at 77. Though when I put my finger in the water when I'm testing, the water is a little cold. My skimmer is not hooked up right now either.
