Nano tank question

I am looking to get a nano qt tank and was wondering if you think a 5G nano would be fine for little fish from a 20G tank?

The 5g would probably work as long as only one fish was in it at a time, but if you could get a bigger tank, that would be ideal.

I read some where that 1inch of fish per 5 gallons of water. Does that sound rite?

That's correct, for a main tank. However, in something like a QT tank, that rule may be broken if the fish are kept there only temporarily.
