Nanocube JBJ 24 ... Protein Skimmer vs Refugium(Chaeto), which one?

So my JBJ 24g nanocube came with an "expensive" custom made Protein Skimmer that runs off a Rio 600. I was wondering what are the benefits and draw-backs of running a "good" protein skimmer vs a Refugium w/ Chaeto / Mud Cup ?
I'm not too sure which would be better why is why I ask.....
The protein skimmer had a few leaks so I got some aquarium safe silicone and closed it up so its ready now, but before I install want your opinions on using it or doing a refugium instead? or figuring out how to fit both? lol (probably not possible as the skimmer takes up the entire 2nd compartment being its custom for that tank).

Sounds interesting.. got a pic? Though skimmers work pretty good on the Nano's, but i think if you maintain parameter and do schedualed waterchanges you shouldnt need it. I would try out the fuge. I been doing it from the start with no problems at all, and so is nissian

I'll take a pic of it today when I get home, currently at work...
I didn't buy it for that much, I got it included w/ the Nano...
But yea I'll take a pic for you guys...
Also, any1 have a guide on how to get a light mod setup inside the hood of a closed-top JBJ Nanocube so that a refuguim can work since I would need a light? How did you do it?

They make a submersible light that would make it so you wouldnt need to mod the hood at all... Give me your e-mail address and i can send you a link of what im talking about

Accepts up to three lights (lights not included).
So which lights do I put in it, and how do I put it just floating on the top of the water and the chaeto ?

Get a Marina LED White Light and the Marina HUD.. DO you have a petsmart near you? They have the light/hud combos there for like $12.99
