naso tang.

Just purchased a naso tang 2 weeks ago. Everything seemed good he eats like a champ and he looks really good but i notice that during the night time it looks like he spits some food out.. Sorta weird to me.. Is this a sickness or maybe he just eats to much. Asked the LFS what they feed him and they said rom. Lettuce so thats what i feed him.. Parameters are solid tank has been up and going for awhile.. Suggestions?

i would start feeding him nori sheets-mine loves them, and algae flakes and mysis and other frozen foods, lettuce dosnt do much nutritionally for them

yeah, i tried that but he dosent like it and i heard they are extremly picky I will continue to mix up the food but i wanna know why he spits out his food late at night but i feed him in the day time..

thats why i said try other foods to see if he stops it, because the lettuce fills them up but they still feel hungry so he might spit it up and want to eat it again because hes hungry cos lettuce dosnt give them anything to sustain there health, other wise i cant think of anything else as to why he would to it, someone else may know

cool.. i'll try that, tried some nori yesterday morning he didn't even bother with it.. guess ill keep trying

Also try adding Macroalgae to your tank. That is a natural food for them, my foxface grazes on it, like it is coming to a complete and total end LOL. Pending on your lighting, it should be self sustaining.
