Growth rate will vary according to diet and other enviornmental factors. I assume you realize it is a myth that fish grow according to the size of the system.
So, there is no real absolute answer that they will grow x inches per y years.

actually i have had a ciclid in a 10 gal for almost a year and is still small

Ya freshwater fish are different...small ponds and such..
You ever seen a small ocean?

feshwater fish grow to match their environment size. saltwater fish do not as they never had that problem in the ocean. it will not stop growing in your tank until it either dies or reaches full size lol
