NBA playoffs, who you got?

I realize we're into the Semi's already, but boy do I like my Magic's chances. We were the only team to sweep the first round and will face either the Hawks or Bucks, which will be playing Game 7 Sunday. If we get pass them, then it's to either the Cav's or Boston, and they will likely play a very smashmouth series.

If Lebron is healthy and motivated, no one is going to stop the Cavaliers these playoffs. The 2009-10 Cavs are the perfect storm of young and old, small and big, post and perimeter, and they play defense better than pretty much any team left in the playoffs.
I'm looking at the Cavs in six over Boston, in five over Orlando, and a seven game series over the Lakers or Suns...

I usually don't even follow basketball until after the allstar game. This year I didn't even realize the playoffs started until local news mentioned the Nuggets were down in the playoffs a few days ago

I'll go with the Lakers even though I haven't watched a game all season, Pick has done me well over the last 40 years or so.

The Suns? They don't match up well with the Spurs. Stoudamire and Nash can't handle the speed of Parker and Hill. They don't have any 7 footers that can contain Duncan in the post. If Manu gets hot, I see the Spurs taking the Suns in 6. It's a toss-up with the Lakers. Kobe's not the dominating force he was a few years back. If it wasn't for that pot luck shot last night with 2 seconds left in the game, LA would be looking at a game seven with OKC.

I dunno, I did get to watch a little of the Spurs game and Duncan looks tired. Could spell trouble for the spurs but I am glad they beat the Mavericks.

Yea, most of the 'experts' consider the Spurs old. You know, 34 is such an old age these days.
The Spurs picked up some young talent this year. They played sluggish through most the season (ergo why they were ranked 7th in the West). But they always seem to throw into second and third gear come playoff time. I seriously doubt they'll get past LA, if they do manage to beat the Suns. San Antonio has this jinks about Championships. We only win them on odd years - 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007.
If the Spurs don't make it out of the second round, I'll still consider it a successful season for knocking out Dallas in Round 1. There's become this big anamosity between the two Texas towns, and I don't think Mark Cuban would feel safe walking down a dark street in San Antonio.

Thats why I don't like Dallas, Cuban's a punk.

Semi's are almost over. Lakers/Sun in the West Champ., Magic are still waiting Cavs/Boston. Lebron doesn't seem to be him usual self and now Boston is up 3-2. I realize who wins, isn't the same two teams the Magic wrecked, but WOW the Magic are firing on all cylinders. The Magic just set largest point differential for a 4-game sweep in NBA history over the Haws +101
.
The Lakers looks good, maybe just not as good as last season? The Suns are playing very well right now, I think I would give the Suns the edge.

The Jackson Lakers have a habbit of playing just well enough to win. Sometimes makes it a little hard to tell how they will do in the next round. I pitty the winner of the cavs/celts series having to go up against a well rested Magic.

Sorry, I just saw this

Nice call Bio

Go Suns

Should be 2 good championship series....Lakers are starting to play really well....The media is all jumping on the Magic wagon, with good reason I suppose, but I would still consider the Lakers a slight favorite to win it all. I truly think any 1 of the 4 remaining could win it though, which is rare. Last year the Lakers were a HEAVY favorite.

Ya, Magic didn't play well and losing the opening game at home is tough. Magic played very streaky, and bad on D. I think they were used to being spoiled before against poorer shooting teams. You leave Pierce, Rondo, etc open, they'll drain the shot. Though the Magic overcame multiple double digit deficits, so when they'll playing well, they can get it done, and very quickly too.

Suns got wholloped last night, the good news is the Lakers really shot well, and I don't think they can play a whole lot better than that, but the Suns will need to pick it up if they want to compete.

I would normally be rooting for the Lakers anyway but after the Los Suns BS and now Phil Jackson's comments about the Az law I hope the lakers sweep and Nash gets knocked out.

Nash's political opinions annoy me, but I still love the guy, and love to watch him play. My boss started rooting for the Spurs after "Los Suns"

And like that the Magic are 0-2.
. Better game to watch, but frustrating as well. Paul Pierce certainly came to play. Vince Carter choking on the final 2 free throws didn't help... But far and away, it was one of the most horrible officiated game I've ever seen. I know it's a scapegoat, but wow it was ludicrous at times for the Magic. It wasn't just so much the calls themselves, but the complete lack of consistency with the calls. At least the fans got to the refs....
About that, did anyone hear about the ref throwing the ball at the fan? I'm sure it will be on all the news tomorrow.
DeRosa should have the rest of the year off. Pretty boneheaded move.
