Need a new skimmer HOB

Well, I am sick of my stupid skimmer acting stupid. It overflows for no reason and the skimmate is either super wet or nonexistent. I am done with it. Any recommendations? 55 reef.

Have you checked out the Reef Octopus BH1000?? I have an older model that I used to use on my 29g and liked it a lot. I now have it hooked up on my QT and it works. The new models are rated for up to 75-100g tanks. 170 bucks.
What skimmer is acting up for you??

+1 on the BH1000 Octopus skimmer. I have "heard" of great results with it. I like the constuction from what I can see - and I haven't really heard any bad reviews of it. Once you get it going, it's smooth sailing. I don't think you can beat it for the price. Unless you look into a Tunze nano - which fits INSIDE your tank for $~150.
I have a Reef Octopus Diablo 160 - and I tell yah, that thing is a BEAST! I love the solid construction and the PSK600 pump is pretty powerful and quiet.
Have you ever considered that this might be a sign that you need to get yourself a sump?

I currently have a Deltec MCE 600. I know I should get a sump, but I can't have one in my apartment. I am already pushing the size limit.
