My Foxface got caught behind some rocks and kicked the bucket :(
My wife was never a big fan, so are there any other suggestions for fish that help keeping valonia in check??

I have emerald crabs and they don't touch the valonia, i was thinking of getting a foxface, did yours ever pick at corals?

Mithrax crabs like the smaller velonias. I also think they prefer those purple-colored ones. Those werethe ones I had all over my LRs. Not a single one left. During my research on velonia eaters, I remember readin sailfin tangs as one of the few tankmates that chow on velonias. Of course, I didn't need one since the mitrax were doing a fine job.

I've found that emeald crabs seem to like more than just algae, the few I've had ate worms, and other food stuffs caught in the liverock!

I am pretty sure that long nose butterflies eat bubble algae, but they also like to eat coral....go figure :)
And I suppose that the purple bubble algae are green ones covered with coraline.

The foxface did a great job of controlling valonia as well as some hair algae I had in the tank. The emerald crabs I have enjoy the smaller growths of valonia, but I was hoping I could find a fish that did as good a job as a the foxface I had. In all likely hood I will get another foxface but to make the wife happy I wanted to know some options.
