any particluar reason? the guppies are really cool colors and would add great diversity.......right now i have 2 guppies and one puffer.
but i would rather it be a species only tank...however, the baby guppies would provide a nice snack for the puffers......ahh i cant decide what to do.
maybe i'll just put the guppies in the 2.5 gallon:thinking:
but i still think that the tank would be too green
without the guppies

figure 8's are cool and somewhat trainable believe it or not(so i am told)
I know ours would come up and let my wife scratch its head for a snack and he would also eat right out of her fingers.
Do NOT, PLEASE DO NOT, feed fw feeders to anything other than fw fish. that will do more harm than good.

i have the figure 8 with some guppies. i decided to keep em both 2gether i guess. they are in more FW than salt....not very brackish, and i owuldnt be feeding them to him, they'd just be in there, and if he eats em he eats em

I went with guppies just to make the tank easy to maintain. I also like leiden tanks. So all the maintenance required is to replace evap water, feed, and every 6 months scrape off a very light crusty algae build up.
one tank lasted 8 years, 6 in one location. And had descendants from the original two platties that cycled the tank.

Good, you know what?... Guppies are a dime a dozen and you can get them anywhere, but a freshwater puffer??!!??!! Now THAT'S interesting!! Heck, any puffer is interesting!!

Guppies? Psh.
Do puffers. I've got a 10 gallon, and I currenly have 3 blue eye rainbows, 3 blue rams, 2 yoyo loaches, 2 kuhli loaches, and an asellus puffer.
The asellus puffer is the cutest darned thing I've ever seen. He's really peaceful, never nips on any fins (my yoyo picks on him sometimes, though) and you can keep several of them together. Best of all, they're NOT brackish. They're completely freshwater.
I think they're also known as the Brazilian Freshwater Puffer. Anyways, here's some pictures:
