Ok so i made a thread on here awhile ago about getting a new job at a petstore, well i finnally got what i wanted and am working with the animals cleaning feeding etc... Problem is, im in charge of FW fish not SW. I havent had FW in about 4 years or so and i forgot almost everything! a ph of 8.2 is high bad for fw fish?
My questions for anyone who has fw fish are
1. How to get ph down without using drops.
2. Cichlids are species only tanks right?
3. How to get rid of unwanted snails.
4.The one inch per gallon rule is out because of advanced filtration? Correct me if im wrong.
Anything else im missing thats important let me know.Any help will be appreciated.

chiclids are so mean...yes keep them by themselves. In a store is different than a home tank. Most fish stores are over crowded in the tanks. They should sell quick enough to not have much of a problem.
Funny enough you can sell the snails, people like them and have no idea one make a thousand. They will buy a dozen at once.
PH for FW should be no higher than 7.8
Good luck with the new job.

o ya and dont blow air into the bags when u pack fish, just put the bag down so the bottom is flat and the bag is fully open, than grab the top and twist in one motion. and even though the costomer is always right if u know u r right tell them what u think

put a buffer in there. And that depends on the fish, although typically they like lower ph. Especially ciclids. But then that all depends on which lake they come from
2. Cichlids are species only tanks right?
Depends on the ciclid. And how you stock the tank to begin with.
3. How to get rid of unwanted snails.
drop some snail eating fish in there.
4.The one inch per gallon rule is out because of advanced filtration? Correct me if im wrong.
The one inch per gallon rules is out because it was never good advice to begin with. Because it all depends on the types of fish and what you are trying to accomplish with the tank.
Think species flowerhorn tank. Or MBU puffer tank...

1)Add driftwood to lower the pH, it depends on the location they came from(ex. Lake Malawi/ Tanganyika, Amazon..etc.
2) No, You can add catfish with them( ex. Synodontis Petricola, bristlenose plecos..etc.)
3)Take them out.
