i have a coral which i have found has many ways of carin for and many names.
on this website it is listed as a sun Coral- orange.
should it be in the light or sun? i heard both.
also is it usual to only open its polopys at night because thats what it does?
Right now it is in a shady area and it looks pale.
Where should it be?

its non-photosynthetic, so it doesnt require any light at all..but it does require frequent feedings(at night, or when its polyps are extended)..
it might open up more often if you put it under a dark area, but it still might sense the light..but other than that, it doesnt really matter where you put it..

Some people have success with training sun coral to come out in the day.It should be kept under an overhang,or cave. Each polyp must be fed.Use a turkey baster or pipette to gently get food around the coral{shutting off pumps is probably best,so the food stays suspended around it for awhile}Use a food that has a slurry to it..such as cyclop-eeze,artemia,zooplankton.mysis shrimp, etc.Good luck, beautiful coral, but it does need care.
