Need As Much Info As I Can? Help

was sup fello fish loving friends. went into the local fish store, which i've been there many times and became interested in saltwater fish. as of now, i have two fresh water tank set up with africans but that is a different story. i want to start up a saltwater tank, but don't know where to begin. i don't know what product is good and what to avoid. i don't know nothing about this whole saltwater thing. i want to do a lot of research before starting my tank. so if anyone and everyone just help me out and direct me into the right path, i would really appreciate it. i want to know as much as possible before starting. thanks

In a word, read, read, read, read... you get the idea. buy some books and try to read as many posts on this board as you can. when people mention something and you don't know what they are talking about, just do a search on it and you can get a lot of info. And just know that saltwater is NOTHING like fresh water.

Hey, how's it going. I'm new as well to this hobby. The only thing I can tell you for sure, is read, read, and when you think you know everything, read some more. So far, I've read three books on the subject, and I'm still clueless...LOL.
Good thing we have this message board. I'm learning more from the people here, than in any book i've read. Good luck with your saltwater hobby.

hey thanks guys, i really do hope that this site will help me a lot. i don't think there is a site out there that will help me as much as you guys. i've read several threads just on anything and i hope to learn somemore. yeah, i know that keeping saltwater is so different from fresh water, that's why i'm doing my homework. so how do you start out? i plan on getting mine set up within the next few......YEARS....maybe two. so i still have a lot of time left but a lot of information to gather!!thanks again

i wish i can say bye bye to my money at the bank.....yeah right.... well one of the many several reasons why i want to wait a couple of years is because i want to save up for this. i want to save up as much as possible and go all out. my plan is each week when i received my check from work, i will put in about $20 and take that times 52 weeks, you get $1040, take that times 2 years you get $2080. do you guys think that will be enough, i mean i want at least a 75-100 gallon tank, with corals, live rock, and some really nice awesome fish:D . so i'm guessing this will be more and enough?

I have a second job specifically to support my habit/hobby.
I have to say, for info you can't get any better than the people here.
