I just noticed that my plastic bracing is broken on the back middle top of my asquarium. This is an old tank. What do youguys think? I really don't want to come home and have all of this in the floor fo obvious reasons. Any ideas you have are welcome... I won't have money to fix till after Christmas.

Thanks

I have had good luck cutting a scab patch to place on top of broken brace and solvent weld it to the tanks frame and busted brace. Weldon solvent works fine for this purpose. It can be made from acrylic very easy.

Truth be known it has probably been that way for the 4 weeks i have had it and i just noticed it. Please explain how you made the patch in detail -- that sounds a lot better than moving it all to another tank. Do you think it would have allready busted if it was gonna or could it go at any minute... I can make the patch tomorow if you can teach me please.....If you think i need to i can tape it tonight
Thanks

i'd drain your water level down to just above the lr, that'll take off some of the stress short term.

mine was broke and i tried various epoxys problem was tank plastic was to
old and brittle .so i went to homedepot bought a piece of 1inx1/8 x18in alluminum flat stock bent it to width of tank, even a little more, hence
over corrected .took a bar clamp slid bracket on and release clamp .
sounds cheesy but its been on that tank for 6months and hasnt budged.

I think i'll try the patch thing 1st. If that doesn't work, i'll probably do some sort of braketry on it. Thanks guys for all of the input ... so far no wet floor.
