I have a 46 gal bowfront and right now just have a hood on top with 1 light. I need to get a hood for 2 light I think? I really can't spend too much but I do want to start getting some easy corals. Can I just buy a hood at home depot and buy 2 lights? What lights are the best for the money? Please give me any info to help me. I've done some research but am still really confused! Thanks

Standard-output fluorescent bulbs like the ones that come in the stock fixtures do not produce enough light to keep most corals. You'd be fine for non-photosynthetic things like suncorals and some gorgonians, but if you're looking to keep more variety you need more powerful lighting.
If you went with a 6-bulb T5ho fixture you'd be able to keep anything you wanted. The Nova Pro is a decent unit to look at.
