I am going to be leaving next monday for a trip and will be back Friday. I will deffinetly need to set up an ATO because the person watching the tank is elderly and won't be able to.
I have plenty of room around the tank to setup a temp. ATO.
My plan:
Have a 5g jug of RO/DI water sitting on a tall chair next to the tank. I would have a airline tube run all the way to the bottom of the jug. There would be an Aqualifter pump next to it that will be siphoning water into the sump. I can simply run a airline tube to the back of the tank and into the return pump area.
Is this a good idea? I have a MH with 2 seperate fans running so that the tank stays at a constant temperture but I do lose alot of water. Can anyone give me advice? This is just a rough idea. I dont want to spend $100 on an ATO when this will only be a temp. situation. Has anyone used this idea before?
