Need help from all Ipod peoples

OK, normally I pretty good with computers and such, but I REALLY REALLY dont wanna

up. So since I can only call apple from 8-8 I need help from ne one else.
I have an ipod touch, and I just bought the new 2.0 upgrade, and if you have done this, you know it backs up your ipod and such. But at the end of mine it said something bout an error. But it kept going, now it doesnt know my ipod. It wants me to restore my ipod from the backup of my ipod. Does this mean that I will lose all my stuff(songs and stuff?) It says my ipod was last synched 6/15/2008. Meaning it didnt back up my ipod this time?
Does anyone have any advice?

If it's like the iphone, then yes you will loose all of your music.
You just do a sync without the upgrade, then get the upgrade, then sync again to put the music back into your ipod.

OK, you already did the upgrade. Simply resync it with the computer. Everything will be restored, except what you added to your ipod since that date without going through your computer.
