We just discovered a crab in a 5-month-old tank - can't believe we hadn't seen him before.
I know that whether a crab is going to be a problem can depend on the crab and his size, but I was curious whether anyone knows what type this is and whether you've had good or bad experience with it. I've not been able to identify it from any of my books.
It's got a brown body (about the size of a dime), beady red eyes and striped legs (reddish-brown and white, similar in coloring to a coral-banded shrimp).
It's clearly only out at night and shied away from the light of a flashlight. We've got lots of corals and a clam (plus shrimp, other crabs and fish) - no evidence of any harm as yet.
