Need help identifying this algea

I have these algea on my live rock when I bought it from my lfs and it has been spreading to the nearby rocks. Can someone tell me what it is and if it is a beneficial algea or not?

It doesnt look like algae at all to me. I think they look like foramininferans. And that is probably spelled wrong..... They are a type of protista.... Go to the hitchickers thread on the top of this section of the board, i think it is under misalanius, you will get a good pick there and osme info compliments of reefnut.
