I just bought a super reef devil - in-sump protein skimmer. It works great but there are a ton of tiny bubbles going back into the tank. What can I do to remedy this situation? Thanks for your help!

is there a intake value control?

I am not familar with the product you have, but I think it common problem.

Just like Krusk said, you need to monitor the skimmer and just use the valve to controll it, it may take a few tries..... Good Luck!

there is a flow reducer on top of the pump right now i have it wide open the skimmer is from Etss and got real good reviews from alot of on-line sites it wasn't cheap $200 it skimms like crazy but produces alot of bubbles which are being sent back to tank via return pump any other sugesstions would be appreciated

another trick is to place a sponge filter before the return to the tank (if possible). i have had problems with my skimmers, i just had to adjust the airflow to get it just right. hth and good luck

I had the same problem with my skimmer. I took a small tuppeware container with holes drilled in the bottom, put a carbon pad and filter floss in it, and sent the outflow of the skimmer through this. So instead of having the skimmer outflow go directly into the sump it goes through the filter floss and the bubbles get trapped in the floss material. It worked great for me. No bubbles at all after I tried this. I used a 3" piece of PVC pipe to support the container above the sump water level.
