shrimp , squid, scallops will all work for a lion these you can pick up cheep at meijers.because he is small you may have to cut into smaller peices.. as for feeding him I normally use a clear acrylic feeding tube (purchased at lfs) this works better than a normal skewer because its clear and doesnt tend to scare the fish..other means to to start off is fishing line basiclly thread the food dont tie it off .. lions react to slow moving foods... danglee the food around him try to do this without startling him just wiggle it a tad to get his attention he should go after it in time.. as for other foods to give him along with foods listed above are silverslides frozen krill(not freeze dried) small chunks of salt water species fish.avoid salmon or tuna as they are very fatty fish.. while hes small offer foods daily. offer food a few times per day if he doesnt eat at one time do try again to get him to eat at least one time per day. dont feed him brine as it contains no nutritional value to sw fish.. he may eat it but will in time starve to death..or become malnurished..... be sure to give a variety of foods as one type will not have all the requirements he will need
