need help with clownfish

i was under the impression that once they turned female they could not change back, but if they turned male they could turn female still...? is this incorrect?

NOPERS it aint right. It's pretty much how reef magic put it. Let them fight, it has to be done to have a mated pair. They are the same species right?

Once a female always a female - they won't change back. Once a male they stay a male until they get the opportunity to become female - then they change into a female. They stay a female until they die .......IN a large group setting the most dominant sexless clown then becomes the male and there is a continual ladder in society. which is why at best you should only keep 2 clowns because that third clown would be getting continually harassed by the male clown so he stays in his "sexless" place.
So in nemo - over time Marlin would become Mrs. Marlin and nemo would be a dad
So he is right - and hopefully he does not have two females ....

thats what i was basing my first reply to this topic on. but i would wait and see if they eventually get along before rushing back to the store.
