Need Help With Crabs!!!

Hi,
I just got back from flordia and when I was there I went to the beach and picked up crabs out of the ocean. I took them back to kansas with me and put them in my fish tank. I hvae a salt water fish tank and also some blue legged and scarlet crabs in there already. Was that a good idea to do that? Will they like it? My crabs seem the be picking on the new ones. This won't hurt my tank in any way will it? Someone please answer me. Thank you.

First of all welcome to the board! : )
I don't think that was such a good idea to put the crabs in your tank because they carry different types of bacteria on their shell and everything. Don't know if it will really hurt your tank just depends on what kind of bacteria the crab was carrying.

One of the main things you need to do is look at what your crabs look like and identify them, what species they are exactly. This will enable you to see if they are harmful to your other crabs or fish in your tank and whether or not they are reef friendly if you have a reef tank. Just take a pic of them if you can and post them online or search websites till you find a match, good luck

do you happen to know of a web site that shows pics of all crabs so that i can identify them. Please help if you can thank you.

As a general rule it is not wise to put any livestock into your tank that you have not first identified, and know it's compatibility to other livestocks of your current (and furture desired) inhabitants.
If you need time to perform checks and ID them - put them in a holding tank so they are easily accessed. Then when you find out it's NOT compatible, you can release it or send it to a LFS - instead of have to suffer the trouble of catching them and/or suffer the destruction they may pose.
