Can someone tell me all the info. I need to know about the duster inorder for it to thrive in my 30gal. reef? What are some fish that are compatible with the duster? plmk

The duster was the one thing I did not do any research on before adding it. Not that anything happened to it....It has been in there for a week and it is fine so far. The first day a blue leg and an emerald were eating on the tube part and it freaked me out until I saw that they were just eating the hair algae off of it. I've never read of anything that would eat it....some people say that you should place them vertically and some say horizontally....I lay mine on it's side and buried one end of it's tube. HTH :)

They are easy to keep filter feeders (could be feed phytoplankton or most anything else targated at filter feeders) who actualy prefer water quality a little less than perfect. Some types of angels will eat at there feathers.

Most fish are ok, most triggers will eat them, tho we have a niger and he has never touched either of ours, I have also heard that some puffers will eat them, and something else thats not a fish but, a chocolate chip starfish may munch on them too, thats why they are not reef safe they are coral munchers, cya

I read that they are filter feeders. Ergo, a supplement of phytoplanktons may help them. Try target feeding it to make sure they get to eat. HTH ;)

feather dusters are one of the inhabs in my tank I have had good luck with. They filter feed so they get a little of the frozen food I feed my fish but I also add some Kent Marine's Micro-vert to make sure they are eating. Mine have grown since. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. :D
Playtime :D
