what are your water tests? pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, specific gravity. If your specific gravity is low or you have some ammonia that could sure kill them, and crabs will die before fish.

but woudl they die before anenomes?
are you sure that it is not jsut a molt?
everything that would kill crabs i would think would kill anenomes first....

no copper, the anenomies are eating, they look fine. the ph, nitrites, nitrates were a little high and i did a water change. i am going to check the water this afternoon. i did take all of the crushed coral out of the tank about 2 or 3 weeks ago and put in live sand

Ahh! Now we see the light. You started up a little cycle when you disturbed your sand bed. Keep an eye on your ammonia and nitrites. If you see ANY, do a 10% change.

Thats prombly what happened! But like fishieness said are you sure its not where they molted? I've seen mine's shells where they molted before and thought they were dead.
