i have a 150gal tank, but it is a deep tank. it is 4' long x 2' wide x 3' deep. i have 6 110v 48'' vho's in my canopy. i have 3 super actinics and 3 (i think they are 10k) whites. i was just wondering if this lighting was ok or did i need something else.
i have a bta in the tank right now that i have had for a week. (which is about 5 days longer than i have had any other anemone) and i have a rose bulb anemone on the way. do you think they will be ok? and what do i need to feed them and how?
i pretty much need a crash course in anemone's.... and i have orange percula and a black percula and they are pretty much inseperable, but they wont even go near that bta. what do they like?
thanks for all your help

Sounds all right to me. It would be better with MH especially with such a big tank, but if you place them as close to the lights as possible then it probably will be good.

I vote that you add a couple of MH bubls to the mix, I don't think you will regret it. The MH bulbs will be the only ones to fully peniterate to the depth of tank that you have. At least 2-250 watt bubls.

how could i add mh bulbs with the vho's already screwed into my canopy? wouldn't the heat bust the bulbs?
and off the topic, i how come i can't send pm's?
and how do i get a pic under my name?

You can have a pic after you have 25 posts.
This (as many will tell you) is a rather strict board. The pm's are disabled but you can trade or request a email addy from another member.
There is also no links to other BB's or competitor sites.
You may have to redesign your canopy or even build a new one. If the hood you have now isn't high enough to add MH bulbs. They should be several inches above the top of the water as any splash could break those bulbs as they run so hot.
I have 4 VHO bulbs that are staggered in a custom hood with 2 MH bulbs.
They do make retro fit kits that are VHO/MH combos. They are normally 2 MH bulbs with 2 VHO actinic bulbs along the side, but you should have a taller than normal canopy to keep those MH bulbs a safe distance from the water.
