Need help with q-tank

ok i just set up a 10 gallon q-tank, i have water and a hood. What else do i need to add? Do i need a filter or just a power head, i think i have a filter some where.
Please help me asap, my friend has a sick fish that needs to go in it today:happyfish

ok this is how you do it water some sort of pvc pipe for the fish to hide by or behind or in. bare bottom and you dont need a filter at all but you do have to do water changes more often like once every 2 days at least

Your gonna need something for circulation so a powehead or HOB filter without the media will work. I would add something for the fish to hide in. In my 20 gallon QT I have 2 clay pots and a big fake staghorn coral decoration. If your using a medication for treatment I would ditch anytthing like clay pots as I'm unsure if they will absorb the med and make treament less effective.HTH

You will also most likely need a heater.

wait so if you had a 10 gallon tnak would you do a 10% water change EVERY TWO DAYS because that seems like alot and pretty often. and do you do the water changes even when the fish isnt in the tank????

If the fish has places to hide the water change shouldnt really bother it.

If the tank is uncycled than you wanna do the water changes to prevent the tank from going through the cycle process. If you haven't already, read the sticky at the top of the Disease/Treament forum it has some great infromation.
