Need Help with Vermiculated Angel.

Hello,
I am experiencing a problem with my Vermiculated (Singapore) Angel Fish. The fish has recently recovered from a problem with ich (I did nothing to help). The fish was doing real well, swimming around the tank, and coming out when people were around. The fish was not coming to the top of the water for feedings, but I believe the fish was eating algae, and food floating around after feeding (which is very tricky to do, because I dont want the other fish to eat everything, but I dont want a lot of food left uneaten). The fish would swim around during feedings, but not really eat until I left.
It had been just over three weeks since I got the fish, and the fish was doing good, so I decided to do a partial water change. This caused the fish to be a little more reluctant to come out. The fish would hide for a little longer when I came to the aquarium, etc. But the fish was getting better, until....
Sunday night my brother wanted to see the fish, so he waved his hand at the fish (real close to the fish). Now the fish hides constantly. The fish is now hiding where you cant even see the fish anymore.
How long should I expect this to last? What should I do to help ease the stress? How can I encourage the fish to come out?
I took a look at the fish last night, and I did not see any signs of ich. It was hard to get a good look at the fish, because it is so hidden.
How I perform water changes:
1 - The night before I prepare a bucket of water. I make ten gallons of water. I add Aquasafe and salt to the water according to the directions of each (the salt I put a little less then recommended because of evaporation). I place a heater in the water, and make sure that the temperature is set to that of the aquarium.
2 - Clean alage from the glass.
3 - The next day I use a python to siphon off about eight gallons and clean the gravels.
4 - I add the water into the aquarium using a small container to gradually add the water.
To feed the fish I alternate between a couple of items:
1 - Tetra Marine Flakes.
2 - Tetra Marine Flakes (Color enhanced).
3 - Live Brine shrimp (a couple of days a week).
4 - Frozen Angel food that is thawed in water, and then added to the aquarium.
Tank Parameters:
46 gallons (bow front).
7.5 lbs live rock.
10 lbs dead coral (did not realize the danger to the environment when I purchased it).
Fluval Canister filter - rated for 40 gallon aquarium.
UV Clarifier.
Another Canister filter - rated for 55 gallon aquarium (not sure on brand).
Undergravel filter with two power heads.
S.G. = 1.022
Ammonia = 0
pH = 7.9 (I am not sure how to get that up?????)
Temp = 79
nitrite and nitrate (not sure, I have not tested in a little while)
Three green chromis.
One Perculia clown.
5 Turbo Snails.
Tank established on 08/15/2001, Chromis added 08/22/2001, Clowns added 09/15/2001, 10/12/2001.
Thanks, Charlie.

Any help here? If Vermiculated (or Singapore) Angels are not in your area, I would also appreciate general help on Freightened Angel fish. Would my low pH be causing the problem (7.8)?
I am worried that the fish is going to die!

im not sure but my ph is awalys at 8.3. You can add ph buffer from the store and get it a little higher. it may take it a week or so to swim around again. And keep an eye on its health.

try using baking powder to raise your p.h. if you can't find a good buffer (seachem) at your local pet store. your canister filters aren't giving you enough biological filtration is my guess. they are a completely closed system, so that doesn't give them much of a chance for bacteria to establish and not much time for gas exchange either. my only other suggestion would to add as much live rock to your system as you possibly can. Call mark's marine (2250 291-6275 in baton rouge. they can probablly git it for you around 3.50 per pound with shipping for a forty pound box of prime fiji rock.
