whats the best way to take out some yellow polyps that have managed to spread into a zoo colony. there is about 10 polyps in the middle of the zoos. is there a safe way to remove them without hurting the zoos? i gotta charge my camera then ill post a pic

well depends do you want to remove them or kill them. killing is easier. removing is way harder. to remove them alive your going to have to pick or chip them out with a small chisel like tool. to kill them just inject the yellow colonial polyps like you would an aiptasia with high strength kalk, lemon juice, vinegar, or the like.

Hm, never heard lemon juice before, is that really reef safe (well obviously not, it kills the polyps), I mean does that have adverse affects?

its just organics. I use it all the time on aiptasia. never seen any adverse effects yet and I have been using it for a couple years now. the buffering capacity of your water neutralizes the acid quickly. your going to get more pollution from the dying polyp than you will a couple cc of lemon juice.

I've used lemon juice on aiptasia for a long time with a very good success rate.
I've used kalk paste with a pretty good success rate.
I recently switched to a more deadly concoction.
