This is my 1st attempt at a saltwater tank. I foolishly bought a used set up from this joker that spent all of 30 seconds explaining the componets to me. We got the canister filter going. I just need basic info. How do you open it to clean it without the water flooding the floor? Does it need carbon? Does it need some amount of lilter floss ? It also has a skimmer attachment and a UV filter( do i need this with soft corals?) . I bought a prizm skimmer that has a small amount of carbon in that. I also question whether this is simply too much power for a 46 gallon tank? Would a small hang on the back filter be better? Please help me stop the comedy of errors so far!!!!!!!!!!
