I had a few in my old tank, They gave life to dead spots ,I put them in their own little crevace, some fish would peck at them, cant remember which but they retracted, a nice addition to a tank

oh, btw, do you have to consider these as part of the full bio load of your tank???

they are filter feeding worms and I dont think they add enough to actually worry about unless you are grossly overstocked on you tanks in which I dont think they would live,,
