Can anyone provide assistance in helping me figure out what is wrong with my lighting system and/or whether it is the correct system for my tank?
I have a 155gallon bow, which has a customer built hood that has 4-24" bulbs. It uses 20 watt bulbs (2-10,000k and 2-trichromatics) but it is currently not working. It is about 2 years old, and i have no clue how to fix. i also have no clue whether it is even the right system for my tank.
I have approx 100lbs of live rock, and approx 15 fish(angels, wrasses, tangs, one small trigger, clowns, gobies), a few anemones and a good supply of hermiit crabs and snails.
Can anyone recommend someone in brooklyn, ny who fixes lighting systems (i'm sure it is something minor) or maybe i would change to a new system if this system isnt appropriate or if there is a better way to go than i am currently using. my bulbs have been burning out after only a few months, which makes me think the system may need to be replaced, or maybe it is just the same porblem which currently has my lighting not working.
any advice, please.

I am not an expert in lighting. But for a 155g tank, i don't think you are providing enough lighting to the inhabitants. 20W x 4, that's only 80w of light in a big tank. How are your anemones doing? Anemones are hard to keep without intense light. there are a lot of posts at this site about lighting. Depends what you want to keep in your tank, but i say you need to upgrade your lighting fixture. It may be easy to fix your existing light, but it's not going to bring out the beauty of a 155g tank without proper lighting.

Your problem is most likly in the wiring or the ballasts on your setup. But even if it was fixed,it is a far cry from what you really should have over that size of a tank with live rock and anemones. You should look into VHO(very high output) flo's.Or even metal halite lighting. As stated, anemones require rather intence lighting to survive. And your live rock will do alot better with more light.I would suggest boosting your total wattage to around three watts per gallon.
