Need QUICK HELP!!

Ok so i got a test kit today and it says my nitrate level is HIGH VERY VERY HIGH!!! Im about to add two new fish to my tank, will this kill them????? and how can i get it lowered?!?!?!?!?!? Im assuming i have to change the water?

How high? how long as your tank been setup? Check with your lfs and see if they get the same readings as you when you ask them to test your water.

thanks for the reply, i just read the other post about hight nitrates so i think ill be fine, im just going to do another water change. Its been up for 6 or so months now, buti just bought it and have had it up for one month and im just now adding fish into it

definitely do not add ANY fish if you have high nitrates!! Get them down first with repeated water changes before you add any fish.
