About 2 years ago I bought a blue snowflake polyp rock which had about 30 polyps on it. It spread a little in a year, but not a huge ammount. About a year ago, I put in a small Xenia frag, which has been consistently but slowly growing. In the past year, the snowflake coral has taken off like crazy and I'm no concerned it may be choking out the Xenia, or at least stopping it from growing. The top of the Xenia is branching out but the base no longer has room to spread. Any thoughs on this? Is it ok? If not, can something be done? Here's a few pics to illustrate the issue...Attachment 235449

Yes the blue snowflake polyps, Clavularia sp. , Could definitely be dhoking out this and other coral in the future. My be time to start fragging some out and selling or trading them away.

For now place a rock nearby the Xenia, just above it, and it will climb up on its own. Then you can move it to a better place in the tank.

So I came across this post I made last year while looking through my subscribed post so I thought I'd give an update on the Xenia...

As you can see, the Xenia showed that snowflake who's boss. It's about a foot wide and has a couple frags around the tank that split off somewhere along the way.
