Ok, I am just starting into the hobbie of saltwater aquariums. I have had others, a couple fresh waters and a brackish. They have all been great. Now I am ready for something with some cool fish, and something to ocupy my boring days at home. First of all I want to know abotu placement, I have a very brite room, is the closet the answer? Second question, I am a BIG fan of a few fish, specifically Cowfish, Puffer Fish, Trigger fish, and the Clown Trigger Fish. Would they go good in a aquarium? Third, I am not the heavy $ guy u all thought I was...I can probly scrape together $650, in a month. What size aquarium would I need for the pacific fish I like? I also do not want to grow anemones, or coral.....What else is there too it? Would u be nice enough to give me some pointers also? Thanks in advance, Evan

Evan if you want a trigger you need a 75 gallon tank min. You would want to get live sand + live rock about 50 lbs rock and 75 lbs sand would be good. Also a protein skimmer is a must (triggers + puffers are messy eaters)it would help keep the tank cleaner. Cycle the tank with the rock + sand and dead shrimp from the market, should take like 2 weeks. Good luck

Oh yeah I also liked cowfish but decided not to get one because when it dies it can kill all your fish in the tank, it releases a poison when it is stresed out.

Again I have to say a Puffer and A Trigger in a 75 is a bad combo. I keep saying this and yet the posts keep coming "I want a Puffer and a Trigger". Now again I will say this 90% of the time one of the fish is going to go after the other (usually the Trigger after the Puffer) and the Puffer will lose that battle. Even in my 125 when I added a large Niger to the 2 Large Porks the Niger in this case got stressed out and sick and dead causing a bad Ick outbreak in the tank (which I solved thank goodness- It did take 6 weeks to fix it up) So is what can happen worth it. If you are like me I will always be in the 90% that does not have something work. But what the heck you could be in the 10% who do - is it worth the gamble?

Panchito,
Thanks for the info on Cowfish.
jwtrojan44,
I dont have an aquarium or anything for that matter. I am looking at a 75 gallon. I got a place for it, about 7ft. from the huge window in my room. I think that will work out good, I will cover up some of the window that alows major sun. Also, is there any maintanence to live rock and sand? Thanks for the advice.
Pufferlover,
I see what your saying, I think everyone (Including me) thinks they are the two coolest fish ever. They truelly are. Your right, I dont know really if it is worth the risk of losing a $50 dollar fish. If I had a 75gal aquarium, and bought say 4 fish, all at the small size. Blue Tang, Checkered Puffer, Green Strips and Stars Puffer, and a Clown Trigger. Would they all fit? As well get alonge? I really apreciate your detailed reaplys.
He he, I have lot O question, sorry bout that. Well thats about all the thinking I can squeze out tonight  .
