Need some help fragging some zoas

I need some suggestions on how to go about fragging some of these zoas the rock they are on is epoxied into place so I can't really remove them without trying to break the rock off and I can do that I'm sure the epoxy doesn't have a real strong bond but I don't want to risk messing up my rockwork if I don't have to.

Can you use a razor to cut them away from the rock? IF so how much of the mat do I need to get or can you cut at the bottom of the stem?
In the past I have just broken the rock or placed a rock next to them and let the zoas spread onto it, but I don't really want to break this rock again and I can't really place a rock next to the colonly because it is on the side of the rock.

Take a razor or a scapel and cut the thru the bottom of the mat as close to the rock as you can. Then cut from the top. You don't need to get the whole thing off the rock. I just fragged some zoa's tonight and got most of the polyp but left some of the bottom on the rock. I do the same with palys and have had great success.
Hope this helps, watch the stuff they release into the water and wash your hands/arms well after your done.

John - just find a couple small rock/rubble pieces and then set them around the edges of the colony. Yes it will look funny but in two to three weeks you can remove the rock/rubble pieces and trade them. I'll take one and give you pick of the litter on my frag tank! By the way since you were here last I now have about 80 pieces in the frag tank. See ya soon.

I tried that and because of where it sits I don't have a good place to set the rubble between bad location and my mexican bulldozers I can't get it to stay put. I think I am going to remove the rock and try to frag it again and hope for the best the colony doesn't want to spread any further at moment any way so I want to try and move it so it will continue to spread and make it easier to frag since this seems to be a fairly popular zoa. Just need to be home for a while so I can get this done and get into some sort of routine again before my tank starts to suffer. So far so good but my water changes have gotten stretched out to once a month and my calcium isn't getting dosed regularly so I can't get my calcium up to where I want it. Sometimes I think I am crazy to be thinking about taking a new postition that will require more travel
