My Green carpet is new as of 2 weeks ago. I have 4 other anemones in the tank that I have had for over 3 years, 2 Rose BTA & 2 Curly Q's ( I started with 1 of each and the BTA split about 2 years ago and the Curly Q about 18 months). The carpet looked great for the first couple of days climbed up a rock, right out of the sand staying close to the bottom exactly where I wanted him ( First time that has ever happened for me with any anemone). Then my black clown who has never shown any interest in any of the other anemones decided it was his new best friend. I know carpets host clown fish but he is constantly messing with it, now the carpet Is withdrawing about 1/2 the time and looks normal the other 1/2. Is the clown bothering it that much or is this normal behavior for Carpets? Its got good movement and color but when it deflates that is whats bothering me. I am not very familiar with this anemone and need some advice from someone who is. I was due for new light bulbs (T5s) so I am doing that today just to make sure they are getting plenty of light.
I checked all my levels they are good. I tested at home and took a sample to the LFS just to make sure I had good results from my home test.
PH 8.1
Cal 430
Phosphate 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Temp 79
Gravity 1.025
Note: My Phosphates where slightly elevated 1 month ago so I put some Phos-Zorb in the canister Filter.
This is my first post I have always enjoyed reading this forum for the past few years it is very good source for info. Thanks in advance for the help, any advice or educated guesses are appreciated.
