im about to do a water change, for the first time since putting live sand in my tank. should a vaccumm the sand, or leave it alone? it looks like there is some brown algae growing on the sand.
I usually dont vacuum the sand if you get a good enough cleaning crew and maybe a lawnmower or tang, then it should be good. I think it's just to difficult to vacuum the sand.
yeah I agree, I wouldn't vacuum the sand. You might want to just stir it up a bit and see if that helps. If you vacuum it you will lose vital parts of the LS.
