Need some semi-urgent help!

Ok, my SFE jumped out of my egg crate top (he is a baby) he seems pretty shaken up about the whole thing, I currently have weighed down towels covering the tank for safe measure above the grid. Now my question is, has he learned his lesson or will he make similar attempts in the future?

thay will try to get out if thay are unhappy, what else is in the tank with it?
it's possible one of the other fish are picking on it. You might be better off wrapping the egg grate with fine fiberglass screening - better air flow

It is in the tank with a percula clown fish, a serpent star fish, and two peppermint shrimp. I don't think it would be unhappy by these fish, I will try to feed him something.

what and how often are you feeding it? most of the time if thay get out it means its looking for food.

use a slender piece of rigged tubing or a long wood skuar, put a small piese of shrimp,or silver sides on it hold it around an inch from his noise, feed until he loses instreast in it every other day,if it did the great escape the frist few days it will settle in to its fav hideing place, should be no problem,I have 4 different els in 4 tanks and never had a long term problem.
