I am not new at this but for some reason I can't get a new 125 gal tank to cycle.. :help: It's been over 5 weeks and my Ammonia is 1.0,Nitrite 0.50 and the Nitrate is 10. I am using a Bio-ball filter and I have a sand base...I have tried to take some water (20gal) from one of my other tanks to jump start it and I put a few Black Mollies in and a about 5 pieces of live rock to see if that would help AND 2 bottles of "Cycle" but so far the reading stay consistent...WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK!!!!

Hello, 1st of, you really should not cycle with mollies or any other kind of fish for it is real hard on them, like being in a chem. fire for humans: it can burn their gills and makes it hard to breathe, fust like humans.
125 is a big tank...it sounds like you are still cycling IMO. Might take longer then 5 weeks.
I would take out the fish and stop adding chems. to your tank, let nature take it's course.
Try using a raw piece of shrimp to cycle your tank...you can put it in a clean piece of pantyhose or Knee-High...(makes it easier to remove)
After all this, give it another week to see if all your levels go down...just MO. good luck
also...you said you had 5 pieces of LR are they big pieces? 125g is big you need at least 1-1 1/2lbs of LR per gallon for the proper natural filteration.

If the readings aren't changing at all from what you listed them as even through putting in mollies and everything else I'd start to question how accurate your test kit is. Find a second, different test kit (buy one, go to a friend's house, local store that tests water samples, whatever) and see if it gives the same reading.

Using nothing but bioballs for a filter?
You are going to have a SLOW cycle as you wait for bacteria to build. You really need more live rock to help out in the filtration department. Or if you aren't wanting to do that you need more filter media. A good hang on like an emperor would help. I'd aim for at least 100 pounds if you want to do the live rock thing.
