an upgrade in lighting is your best bet as of now because the tank looks pretty clean but dull. Brighter lights will deffinately bring out all the color. It will also make maintenance a little bit more demanding but is deffinately worth it. If you arent doing corals I would just get some 50 50 PCS.

The Tank is Actually 9 months old before I even received it. It was running at a local fish store with some Corals, Seahorses and other things. They sold it to me with all of the same substrat and 50% of the water so it was already been cycled. i only had it for 4 months and just started putting fish in it. thanks for your concern Nate.

I know it looks dull. I am planning on putting Corals soft and hard but Ireally want to make sure I know what I am doing. So what will be better the PCS Lighting.

hi cyclops,, i am not sure if this is much help , cause i am in the same boat, my next purchase is going to be a blue mushroom, i think there really pretty, that will add some color,,, also i think the lighting has a lot to do with it,, your tank is beautiful, i paid a pretty peny for my lighting , but it is gorgeous. there set on a timer so i dont have to worry about turning them on or off, from 1:50 to 9:50pm the lights are on, then from 9:50 tell 5:50am the moon lights are on, then from that time there in pure darkness. i am not much on decorating either, but i am going to try to send you some close up pictures, of my stuff...will good luck to you. and have a great day......ginarox

If you are wanting hard corals, then you will need a lot of vho(have seen peple who keep hard corals with these) or mh. Are you planning a canopy or a fixture that sits on top of tank.

I have never thought about getting a canopy, but I am thinking about some T-5 or even higher like the Metal Halide. I am planning on keeping both hard and soft Corals. I guess my other question is if upgrade my lighting will I also have to have my tank open on top. I jsut don't want fish to jump out. Right now I am shopping and doing research until I get back in October then I will by the lights
Thanks everyone

You could hang MH pendants and not have to dicker with a canopy.
