need -want a new skimmer for SPS's

I am considering eliminating some to a lot of my LPS and going with more SPS.
The reaching out and touching is out of control........Plus it is time to try something new.
This tank is a 72 bow with about 45 gallon of fuge. Prams are good.
But I may be inclined to update my Skimmer if making the change over. Currently I am running an older "Typhoon". I just think this may be one of my weaker points in going to some SPS's
Any suggestions on a new Skimmer that the wife would pop a fuse about over on how much all this new stuff cost this time???
Thanks all.......... Warren

Upgrading your skimmer is a must for the transition to sps.
I have a EuroReef RS-100 on my 65g with 20g fuge. You may need the RS-135 if you wanted an ER. I can say that when I upgraded my skimmer, it made a huge difference to the few sps I had then. I have a lot more SPS now and couldnt imagine using the crappy corallife SS 65 I had back then.
The MSX160 is very popular and doesnt use a large footprint. joncat on here has one and swears by it. It wasnt out when I bought my ER or I would have probably gotten that.
Also, the recirculating octopus skimmers are really good and modding them makes them even better.
The ER, MSX and Octo recirc all should be 300-$400 range.

People definitely like the Aqua C, maybe someone can chime in about their expierice with them. I just dont have any specific experience with or knowledge of them.
The MSX and Octo were ones I heavily researched and considered buying (well only rumors of the MSX at the time I bought my ER).
Also, try posting on the lighting/equipment forum as more people with skimmer knowledge will respond.
