Needed some stress relief so I hit the track last weekend

I have been playing around with camera mounts between sessions and put this together. Switch it to HD 720P and enjoy.

Cool stuff. I always rode dirt bikes and wasn't interested in rippin it up and bouncing my kidneys up into my throat, just liked to cruise and enjoy the scenery. I always wanted to try the high speed on a track like that though. Looks like fun.

Nice, I am looking forward to doing a track day soon myself, but 4 wheels instead of two.

Nice, nice. Were you able to put together a solid lap? How much did you knock off from last time (think it was a few months ago)?

Very cool. I always wanted to hit the track. I just knew it would become like crack and I would need to get back as often as possible. Just to get set up correctly can cost some major coin. Then its tires and more tires. What tires are you running btw? Do they allow you a 16.5 inch rim now or running the stock 17's?

I liked it all except the buttview cam. What track is that?
Aw come on! The butt cam is awesome! The track is JenningsGP and is located about 2 miles from the Georgia Line off I-75 in Florida.

Yes, I was there for the first time in December. I did get in a few good laps per session but I was one for the fast riders this time so I hit a lot of traffic. I was running low 1:40s and I think I hit hight 1:30's once when I was following one of the very fast control riders. They were going to bump me to intermediate halfway through second day but I decided to stay put as I wanted more practice in the technical part of the track (6,7,8,9, and 10). Intermediate is 1:45 to 1:30s and Expert is 1:30 and less but you have to be consistent and turn 8 was killing me. I knocked off a good 15 seconds but 90 degrees makes for a more traction.
I also had my "oh %$#%" moments. If you watch the video, you can see turn 2 starts the fastest part of the track. I ran wide in one and backed the rear of the bike around that corner when I got in the marbles which messed up my line going into two. I ended up running off turn two at about 120mph through the dirt. It's designed to run off but its a rough ride. You stand on the pegs, don't touch the brakes and grip the clips lightly and let it scrub off your speed while praying you don't hit a gopher hole.

You can run 16.5 inch rims. Many of the guys in expert are running them with racing slicks and warmers. I'm running Bridgestone BT-003 Race/Street tires. I'll be going to the BT-003 race tire when I get tire warmers. It is definitely addicting but expensive. The track fees for the weekend is $270 and tires are $300. Multiply that time two for my wife then another $200 for hotel costs. I did manage to get two weekends on the tires though but they are coming off now.

Nice, I have a friend who used to race laguna seca, and he loved that track, but he crashed pretty good at sears point. He also recked his aprilia rsv1000 but he was able to fix it. But one thing I learned from him, is there is something to be said for full leathers, and I recommend using them any time you ride. He walked away from both wrecks with only a couple bruises. My other friend who didn't wear leathers wrecked once, rearending a car that pulled out in front of him, was thrown over the top of the car and ran over, and died on the scene. Keep riding safe, suit up, and ride relatively stress free. Thanks for sharing the video.

I don't think any kind of animal skin is going to save you from that.......

Any crashes/riders hurt this weekend?
Six crashes on Saturday but only one ambulance ride out. Young kid with a broken collar bone. No helicopters this time. My buddy crashed twice. This crash put him out for the weekend.

I'd give my left, uh EAR to ride Leguna Seca! I'll do Road Atlanta, Roebling, Barber and PBIR in the next year or so. I wear full leathers most of the time on the street. If you look at the video where the camera is showing me from the front, you can see the rash on my left shoulder when I got slammed into the road in North Carolina and hit a guard rail. I broke my collar bone and got some bruises but no road rash.

Yes, it's amazing what you can walk away with wearing leathers, and how much skin you can lose when not wearing leathers at slow speeds. He said the tight corner on laguna seca is a trip because you can't see anything until your in it because of the way it turns and drops. I would want to be the only person on the track until I was very comfortable with it.
