Never heard this before - Funny

So I was search online for a Jap Dragon Moray and found a male Hawaiian which looked pretty orange and had good color and called the guy to ask a few questions including shipping cost.
The guy tells me that Jap DME's are darker (knew that) and that they typically won't eat because of the way they are caught (with a hook).
Now here is the funny part, he goes on to tell me that the reason that the Jap's won't eat is because "the hook damages their Striker
in the back of their throat".
Now I have 3 Moray's and even have several Moray books, but a "Striker" is a new one on me...
I found it funny as heck, but has anyone ever heard of such a silly thing?

There are lots of SW aquarium fish caught by divers using a barbless hook, Australian Harlequin Tusks are one...but the "striker is news to me too. I would expect any experienced diver/fisherman to set the hook before it reached the back of the throat. Most deeply hooked fish aren't going to survive the trip to captivity anyhow, IMO.

Sometimes I listen to these guys and I actually expect them to know what they are talking about. I mean it is their BUSINESS!
Sad, if we all worked our jobs like this we would all be fired within a week.

Maybe he ment the second jaw that eels have, they release it out of socket or something to extend the're throats then pop it back into place?
