Never sleep and waterchange...

It was 2:30am and I just got home and I had a 5g bucket full of aged saltwater waiting for me to do a waterchange for my 30g. I would have waited till morning but I had to leave the house early and I wouldn't be back for several days. I went ahead and did the water change while half asleep and stood back to admire the tank. Then it dawned on me... I did't check the salinity of the new water! I grabbed the hydrometer and instead of 1.023 it read 1.027. I pulled some water out and diluted the water back down to 1.023 luckly on the first try. I hope nothing bad happens to the coral and fishies!

Not bad at all...if ur tank was 1.023 and you added 1.027 you probably wont see much of a difference...maybe a raise of like .001

No... see, the water in the main tank changed to 1.027 because I had already dumped the water into the main tank. The water used for the water change, the one i didn't measure before putting it in, had to be pretty high. I know it's not that bad. Just the thought that it happened.
