how long has it been up and running? also, a 10g tank is way to small for a maroon clown. Thay can get up to 6" long and they need at least 30g. I would tank it back and get something like an ocellaris clown.

+1

The damsel will get very aggressive, I say get rid of both.
If you can, add a little more LR. For a reef tank you really want to try to get as close to 1-1.5lbs per gallon. I would try to get 3-4 more pounds in there. It really will help with filtration.
So you have two filters?
Are you running a power head?
Any CUC?

not to mention that maroon clowns get super aggressive when they age. as for lr, you dont wanna follow the guides for how many lbs of lr. What you want is porosity. a 1 lb rock with millions of tiny holes is much better than a dense piece of a 4 lb rock

True. I should have been more clear. I just really think that there needs to be more LR in that tank. Either way, 4lbs just really isn't enough in a 10G IMO. I'd never buy a heavy dense chunk of rock just for the sake of having more pounds of rock in my tank. I'm a fan of a little extra LR when there's no sump. But everyone has their own opinion.

i dont mind having the extra lr. Its just a shame that people end up having rocks just piled on top of one another. i totally agree about him getting more though. muchhhhhh more. you should be at least in a 15 lb range if anything (dense or not).
on an interesting side note, i was listening to a speaker at an event yesterday who said that he wanted denser rocks in his tank (but he had a 25000 gallon tank) because porous rocks act as bio balls increasing nitrates. to counter act this, he suggested having a strong current once awhile to kick the detritus out of the rocks and take it out via mechanical filtration

That makes sense though. he brings up a good point. It's hard to find little critters to get in there and eat all that stuff unless you want a tank full of bristle worms

How much larger? If you're going to upgrade soon, and you're certain of it, pack that thing full of rocks, this way you'll have so nice coralline algae going for when you upgrade.

I'd do anything but SPS. Even if the lighting were enough to try SPS, you're tank isn't mature enough.
Any leather, softie or LPS would be fine. Since it's a small tank, I wouldn't go crazy with leathers as they do shed and all that nonesense.
If you're new to corals, start with some generic polyps and work your way to a toadstool or other simple leather, then LPS such as Torch, Frogspawn, Lobophyllia (Brain), and Favia.
