New 120 with a few corals. Any ideas for me?

Devils Hand. Really excited to add something a bit larger to the tank.


Some of these are shriveled and look dead. Is it normal when they have been introduced to a new tank?


I need to get more rock but am excited its coming along.

Any tips or help is accepted greatly. What else should i get? Im a poor college student so keep the pocket book in mind.

Hi,

Corals get upset whenever they are disturbed, so it's normal for them to close up until things calm down around them...it just takes time.

It's always hard to tell with pictures, but rock needs to be on the bottom of the tank and sand around it, not rock sitting on the top of the sand. Even if you don't have it all built up, a 3 pound rock is mighty heavy on a critter if they dig under, and many SW fish do.

The black sand looks really awesome.

Thanks so much. I never thought about the rock needing to be on the bottom. Ill fix this today.
