I just started a 26 gallon bow front and was wondering if a agua clear hob filter rated for 50g will be good enough. Im planning on turning this into a reef tank with lots of live rock.
If you're going to start a reef tank, you won't need the HOB filter. The live rock is your bio-filter. You will need to invest in a skimmer and a sump or refugium. Cansiter filters are OK but are a pain to upkeep.
The reason i asked is that 2 lfs that go have awsome reef tanks with hob filters. I have a 55g reef with a sump and a canister filter and it is doing great. I have never had any experience with a hob filter.
