My first reef tank was a 46g bow front......love them. I just wish I had saved it. I sold it to someone who made it into a goldfish tank.....

Nice tank so far. Glad to hear you cycled it with seasoned water. You had me worried there.

it doesn't matter where you got the water from. established bacteria showing that a tank is cycled isn't, for the most part, in the water.

was the rock straight from another tank also? the less die off/decay that there is, the less of a cycle. hope things work out for you. sometimes fish can be tough and last through a cycle - as long as it doesn't spike too fast. Watch your levels and test often. people sometimes try to fish the fast spike with water changes or additives. I waited 6 wks before I even put a damsel in though, so I don't have much advice.

Ah, so you were transferring all from old to new tank? That's a bit different. Did everything trasfer - filter also? if so, I would guess there would be little problems.
As for the live sand.. did you transfer it too or get new? I assume you know mixing up old live sand can release a ton of junk.

Thanks everyone for commenting. I should be gettinng some more LR this week. I will post more pics later this week. Also I will be getting a small Tang. Yes I know when it gets bigger I will have to get rid of it, my friend has a bigger tank and I will give it to him.
