Last week I started my second tank and used the live sand, the one with the water in the packing. I took my exsisting canister filter off of my other tank that has been running now for little over a year to transfer good bacteria. I was wondering if anyone used the live sand and how long then waited to add fish. I've talked to a few diffrent people and some of then said they added fish the next day with no problems. I found that hard to believe. I was wondering how long you guys waited.

I would add a cocktail shrimp to start the ammonia cycle and wait 3-4 weeks before adding anything. Always better to go slow in this hobby. If you don't know how the ammonia cycle works use this site's search feature and just type "cycle" and you'll get plenty of info.
